1. To move around /navigate the BAOBAB
material
The underlined text indicates a hypertext link
to further information.
Place the mouse pointer- usually in the form of an arrow - over
a link. The pointer changes to a hand to 'grab' the information.
Now with your mouse pointer on the link, click once with your left
mouse button.
New information
appears on screen after a pause to load it.
Each screen of material is referred to as a 'page'. If a page of
material is longer than what you see on the screen in front of you,
you can scroll down the page. To do this, click on the down arrow
of the scroll bar on the right hand side of your computer screen.

To navigate between pages
The
panel of buttons on the left hand side of each page enables you
to move directly to any of the main pages from anywhere else within
the site.
Unless
you have changed the default setting in your browser, text links
are underlined, appear in blue text when you have not used them
before and change to a violet colour once you have visited the link.
The link to the page you are currently reading is not underlined
and is in a contrast colour.

To retrace your path /go back
The Back button on the toolbar of
your browser software (e.g. Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer)
will take you back to the page you browsed previously.

To go back to other pages already visited
If you are using
Netscape
to browse, click on Go
on the Netscape menu bar at the top of the
screen. A menu is now displayed of pages that you have visited during
this session. Click on the page you wish to revisit. This list is
started fresh every time you start the Netscape browser.
If you are using
Microsoft Internet Explorer,
and you want to view one of the last five pages you visited in this
session, click the File menu, and then
on the list, click the page that you want to go to. (This list is
started fresh every time you start Internet Explorer).
To view more
pages, including pages you visited in previous sessions, click the
History button
on the toolbar, and then click the appropriate folder.

To make text bigger and easier to read
If you are using
Netscape, on the
menu at the top of the screen click on View then click on Increase
font. The text (font) size will increase. Repeat these steps until
the text is a size you require.
If you are using
Microsoft Internet Explorer,
on the menu at the top of the screen, click on view,
then click on Fonts.
A menu is displayed with 5 font sizes to choose from, Largest,
Larger, Medium, Smaller and Smallest. Select the size that gives
you the text size you require.

To 'bookmark' a page for a later visit
First ensure
that you have the web page open that you want to bookmark for later
return.
If you are using
Netscape,
from the toolbar near the top of the screen click on Bookmarks.
Then click on Add bookmark.
Now in future whenever you click on Bookmarks the name of the web
page that you require will appear. You can click on it to load the
page.
If you are using
Microsoft Internet Explorer,
from the menu at the top of the screen click on Favourites,
then click on Add to favourites. Now
in future whenever you click on Favourites,
the name of the web page that you require will appear. You can click
on it to load the page.

5. Downloading material from the BAOBAB Site
Manuals provided
on this site are in the format that can be read by Acrobat Reader.
Acrobat Reader is a freeware program supplied by Adobe Corporation
for the viewing of online 'PDF' documents. These files carry the
extension .pdf.
If you do not
already have the free Acrobat Reader on your computer, you can download
the latest version of it from the www.adobe.com
web-site which will direct you to a site near you.
For your convenience
you may also download it from the links below on this BAOBAB page
although these may not be the latest version available. To do this
click on the appropriate one of the two program files below by simply
clicking on its link and saving it to a directory (e.g. c:\temp)
on your local hard disk. Note that there are two versions of the
software provided; download the version compatible with your version
of Windows.
After you have
downloaded the file, run the program file and follow the subsequent
installation instructions. Acrobat will automatically add itself
to your Web Browser, enabling you to download and view Acrobat files
from within your browser window automatically when you click on
their links.

The latest versions
of browser software can be downloaded from the www.tucows.com
download site which enables you to choose a download site near to
your home region. Once on the site, select your operating system
e.g. Windows 3.x, Windows 95 or Windows NT, then select your area
from the geographical regions provided, then select the page of
Browser software and choose either Netscape or Microsoft
Internet Explorer and your version choice.
Alternatively,
